Have I Told You, Son?

Have I told you, son,
That someday you'll be a man?
And that someday that I can't help you,
You'll have to make a stand?
So hold your head up high,
And when I tell you, son,
I say
Don't you cry, don't you cry.

Have I told you, son,
That someday you'll have a car?
And that for you to reach me,
Would still be much too to far?
So hold your head up high,
And when I tell you, son,
I say
Don't you cry, don't you cry.

Have I told you, son,
That someday you'll have a wife?
And that she'll be there for you,
When I am no longer in your life?
So hold your head up high,
And when I tell you, son,
I say
Don't you cry, don't you cry.

Have I told you, son,
That someday all things will end?
And though I fixed your bicycle,
Some things you cannot mend?
So hold your head up high,
And when I tell you, son,
I say
Don't you cry, don't you cry.

And have I told you, son.
That someday soon I won't be ill?
And that even though I'm gone
I'll be with you still?
So hold your head up high,
And when I tell you son,
I say
Don't you cry, don't you cry.

And have I told you, son,
That someday we'll meet again?
And that you'll tell your son
just what I told you 'way back then? '
So hold your head up high,
And when you tell your son
I say
Don't you cry, don't you cry.

Life is to Enjoy

Your life has so many things to offer,
What it doesn’t is what you prefer.
Try to look at it from the positive side,
Only the will your journey be a joyous ride.
How many times did you laugh aloud today?
How many people did you say hi on the way?
These are simple things that make life pleasant,
If you don’t know this, you’re really ignorant.
Take a break, do something you love.
Your life is yours, gotta enjoy it somehow.
Life is to enjoy, something you should never miss.
If you have nothing to do, try writing a poem like this!!!

Mother`s love

There are times when only a Mother’s love
Can understand our tears,
Can soothe our disappointments
And calm all of our fears.
There are times when only a Mother’s love
Can share the joy we feel
When something we have dreamed about
Quite suddenly is real.
There are times when only a Mother’s faith
Can help us on life’s way
And inspire in us the confidence
We need from day to day.
For a Mother’s heart and a Mother’s faith
And a Mother’s steadfast love
Were fashioned by the Angels
And sent from God above . . .

Sadness

A state of mind some may call,
Or a part of life’s rise and fall.
In everyones life it may come,
And upset the wind or darken the sun.
In so many ways it is seen,
Seems life then looses its sheen.
Everyone falls into its gaping hole,
But rise out with a replenished soul.
A new feeling arises when one comes out,
Like the start of a flood at the end of a drought.
Some at the time may lose the will to live,
But the experience has so much to give.
Sadness it is you i talk about,
The immortal pain, the endless drought . . .

One Thing I Know For Certain

This one is written for my Love (NAVYA)

Your love is like an eternal light
Sweet as the sweetest wine
One thing I know for certain
Our love knows no time

Your smile gives me the greatest strength
Strength to conquer all I find
One thing I know for certain
You are always on my mind

Your laugh is like a melody
A great harmonic symphony
One thing I know for certain
You're the most important thing to me

Your warmth casts the darkness away
Your presence makes me feel anew
One thing I know for certain
I will always love you . .

Things that you can do to strengthen your relationships.

There are many things that you can do to strengthen your relationships.
Often the most effective thing you can do involves saying just three words.
When spoken sincerely, these statements often have the power to develop new
friendships, deepen old ones and even bring healing to relationships that
have sourerd.

The following three-word phrases can be tools to help develop every
relationship.

1. Let me help
Good friends see a need and then try to fill it. When they see a hurt they
do what they can to heal it. Without being asked, they jump in and help out.

2. I understand you.
People become closer and enjoy each other more when the other person accepts
and understands them. Letting your spouse know - in so many  little ways -
that you understand them, is one of the most powerful tools for healing your
relationship. And this can apply to any relationship.

3. I respect you
Respect is another way of showing love. Respect demonstrates that another
person is a true equal.  If you talk to your children as if they were adults
you will strengthen the bonds and become closer friends.  This applies to
all interpersonal relationships.

4. I miss you.
Perhaps more marriages could be saved and strengthened if couples simply and
sincerely said to each other "I miss you."  This powerful affirmation tells
partners they are wanted, needed, desired and loved.  Consider how important
you would feel, if you received an unexpected phone call from your spouse in
the middle of your workday, just to say "I miss you."

5. Maybe you're right.
This phrase is very effective in diffusing an argument.  The implication
when you say "maybe you're right" is the humility of admitting, "maybe  I'm
wrong".  Let's face it.  When you have an argument with someone,  all you
normally do is solidify the other person's point of view. They, or you, will
not likely change their position and you run the risk of seriously  damaging
the relationship between you.  Saying "maybe you're right" can open the door
to explore the subject more.  You may then have the opportunity to express
your view in a way that is understandable to the other person.

6. Please forgive me
Many broken relationships could be restored and healed if people would admit
their mistakes and ask for forgiveness. All of us are vulnerable to faults,
foibles and failures. A man should never be ashamed to own up that he has
been in the wrong, which is saying, in other words, that he is  wiser today
than he was yesterday.

7. I thank you.
Gratitude is an exquisite form of courtesy. People who enjoy the
companionship of good, close friends are those who don't take daily
courtesies for granted. They are quick to thank their friends for their many
expressions of kindness. On the other hand, people whose circle of  friends
is severely constricted often do not have the attitude of gratitude.

8.  Count on me
A friend is one who walks in when others walk out. Loyalty is an essential
ingredient for true friendship.  It is the emotional glue that bonds people.
Those that are rich in their relationships tend to be steady and true
friends. When troubles come, a good friend is there indicating "you can
count on me."

9.  I'll be there
If you have ever had to call a friend in the middle of the night, to take a
sick child to hospital, or when your car has broken down some miles from
home, you will know how good it feels to hear the phrase "I'll be there."
Being there for another person is the greatest gift we can give. When we are
truly present for other people, important things happen to them and  us.  We
are renewed in love and friendship. We are restored emotionally  and
spiritually. Being there is at the very core of civility.

10. Go for it
We are all unique individuals. Don't try to get your friends to conform to
your ideals.  Support them in pursuing their interests, no matter how far
out they seem to you.  God has given everyone dreams, dreams that are unique
to that person only. Support and encourage your friends to follow their
dreams.  Tell them to "go for it."

B o n u s : 11.  I love you
Perhaps the most important three words that you can say. Telling someone
that you truly love them satisfies a person's deepest emotional needs. The
need to belong, to feel appreciated and to be wanted. Your spouse,  your
children, your friends and you, all need to hear those three little  words:
"I love you."  Love is a choice.  You can love even when the feeling  is
gone.

How great Love is . . .

Once upon a time, there was an island where all the feelings lived:
Happiness, Sadness, Knowledge, and all of the others including Love. One day
it was announced to the feelings that the island would sink, so all repaired
their boats and left.

Love wanted to persevere until the last possible moment. When the island was
almost sinking, Love decided to ask for help. Richness was passing by Love
in a grand boat. Love said, "Richness, can you take me with you?" Richness
answered, "No, I can't. There is a lot of gold and silver in my boat. There
is no place here for you."

Love decided to ask Vanity who was also passing by in a beautiful vessel,
"Vanity, please help me!" "I can't help you Love. You are all wet and might
damage my boat." Vanity answered.

Sadness was close by so Love asked for help, "Sadness, let me go with you."
"Oh....Love, I am so sad that I need to be by myself!"

Happiness passed by Love too, but she was so happy that she did not even
hear when Love called her!

Suddenly, there was a voice, "Come Love, I will take you." It was an elder.
Love felt so blessed and overjoyed that he even forgot to ask the elder his
name. When they arrived at dry land, the elder went his own way.

Love realizing how much he owed the elder and asked Knowledge, another
elder, "Who helped me?" "It was Time," Knowledge answered. "Time?" asked
Love. "But why did Time help me?" Knowledge smiled with deep wisdom and
answered, "Because, only Time is capable of understanding how great Love
is . . .

Don't Give It Up

Today life gave you another slap
but don't give it up
throwing your towel in the ring
for things gone wrong, for words that sting
'cos there  must be another way
you will see it in the light of another day
When everything seems sour, not in your favour

look around until you find better flavour
so, don't just give but live it up
pick up the pieces, be tough
grind your teeth and turn another cheek
don't give it up, that's exactly what they seek

It's too easy to walk away
quitter never wins so you should better stay
look challenges straight in the eye
don't say yet the last good-bye
fight like an animal in a trap
but don't  give it up

Missing Rib

A girl in love asked her boyfriend...

Girl: Tell me... who do you love most in this world..?

By: You, of course!

Girl: In your heart, what am I to you?

Boy: The boy thought for a moment and looked intently in her eyes and
said, "You are my rib. In the Bible, it was said that God saw that Adam
was lonely, during his sleep; God took one of Adam's rib and created Eve.
Every man has been searching for his missing rib, only when you find the
woman of your life; you'll no longer feel the lingering ache in your
heart . . ."

After their wedding, the couple had a sweet and happy life for a while.
However, the youthful couple began to drift apart due to the busy
schedule of life and the never-ending worries of daily problems...their
life became mundane.

All the challenges posed by the harsh realities of life began to gnaw
away their dreams and love for each other.. The couple began to have
more quarrels and each quarrel became more heated.

One day, after the quarrel, the girl ran out of the house.... At the
opposite side of the road, she shouted, "You don't love me...!"

The boy hated her childishness and out of impulse, retorted, "Maybe, it
was a mistake for us to be together..! You were never my missing rib...!"

Suddenly, she turned quiet and stood there for a long while.... He
regretted what he said but words spoken are like thrown away water,
you can never take it back. With tears, she went home to pack her things
and was determined in breaking-up.
Before she left the house, "If I'm really not your missing rib,
please let me go..... She continued, "It is less painful this way... let us
go on our separate ways and search for our own partners..."

Five years went by....

He never remarried but he had tried to find out about her life
indirectly...... She had left the country and back.... She had
married a foreigner and divorced..... He felt anguished that she never
waited for him. In the dark and lonely night, he lit his cigarette and felt the
lingering ache in his heart. He couldn't bring himself to admit
that he was missing her..
One day, they finally met.... At the airport, a place where there
were many reunions and good-byes.... He was going away on a business
trip. She was standing there alone, with just the security door separating
them. She smiled at him gently.
(b): How are you?

(g): I'm fine. How about you... Have you found your missing rib...?

(b): No.

(g): I'll be flying to New York in the next flight.

(b): I'll be back in 2 weeks time. Give me a call when you are
back...You know my number... Nothing has changed.

With a smile, she turned around and waved good-bye..

"Good-bye . . ."

One week later, he heard of her death. She had perished in New
York. In the event that shocked the world..Midnight..... Once again, he lit
his cigarette..... And like before, he felt the lingering ache in his
heart.... He finally knew, she was the missing rib that he had carelessly
broken . . .

"Sometimes, people say things out of moments of fury..... Most often
than not, the outcome could be disastrous and detrimental.... We vent
our frustrations 99% at our loved ones.... And even though we know that
we ought to "think twice and act wisely", it's often easier said than
done. Things happen each day, many of which are beyond our control. Let
us treasure every moment and everyone in our lives. Tomorrow may never
come; give and accept what you have today . . . "

Make a Move

Make a move from this hypocritical world
away from the mechanical life
for a picnic with friends and wife
Throw your formal dresses
and laugh in a jolly mood
Nicely arrange our lunch and diner
but a gimmick in search for food.

Let’s go shouting songs
rhythm from collective consciousness
like nomads going global,
Pretending to lose our ways on a bush-walk
then jump to contact on mobile

Let’s go and appreciate
trees, forest and stars
Boast of creating peace in mind
the magic of healing scars

Then how come we start fights
angered over trivial matters
Hot discussion, war of words
tranquility to shatter...

The Men Women Mismatch

What is a marriage?
Promise to live together,
come what may?
And the cornerstone
must be love?
What is love,
by the way?
I like that husky voice!
I like that sweet twittering!
I like the way she walks,
her gait!
She is so lithe,
so shapely?
I like his macho personality?
I like his caring nature!

What is that love?
Something that comes from within?
The soul inside?
Or that I am just turned on
in his or her presence?
The urge to mate?
The urge to procreate?
Or it is just, You make me happy.
I feel serene in your presence.
Then?
So many different feelings I get
in different persons' presence.

But I have to marry just once.
Or divorce and marry again.
How many times?
At best half a dozen?
The strong libido will decide.
Once is good in many respects.
A few times may be.
But there are heart breaks
and accompanying pain.
Your libido will wear off
sure enough.
The social arrangement of marriage
is a compromise
for your physical and mental need.
So there will always be
unfaithful straying.
There will be guilt.
There will be betrayal.
There is no way.

Men get sperms by millions.
Women get eggs a few hundred only.
Men's is a pleasure of minutes.
Women's carrying for months and pain.
Who is to blame?
Nature? God?
The world's sufferings
if you look deeply
is this sexual mismatch
we try to control by marriage.

"Broken Bridge"

All my rooms are filled with musty dust
Time has taken all that I possess
I never know if to laugh or to scream
To hate or to believe

How could you walk across that broken bridge
All their eyes followed as you so gracefully lived
And I tossed myself behind your feet
You cursed me

Falling through your sphere
All I know is you and here
Your tongue is fire when you speak
But you make me sing
Your love makes me sing

All my spaces are filled with you
With all the colors in the world yours had to be blue
And I'm breaking through your shameless ways
I can't refrain

Your hair is messy
Your frown is soft
You try to be harsh but you know you're so loved

I will toss myself down at your will
You know you kill

Falling through your sphere
All I know is you and here
Your tongue is fire when you speak
But you make me sing
Your love makes me sing

How could you walk across that broken bridge

Finding Happiness

Long years I spent in pursuit
Of that shrewd creature called Happiness
Like other hunters of repute
I was left teary, weary and breathless

Neither hiding in the forest of wealth
Nor perched on the summit of influence
It dawned upon me by stealth
Only after I’d run a wasteful distance

That the joy that’d make me smile
Wasn’t mine to find in the end
Instead, Happiness found me while
I shared my story with a friend

Three Gift I give to You

I hold out my hands to you
One hand slowly unfolds
Revealing to you the key of my heart.
My other hand hold the password to my soul.
These two gifts I place in your hand
Along with the third gift.
The one that bounds the other two together
This gift is my trust.
These three gifts I give to you
My heart, my soul and my trust.
As I place my hand over the top of yours
Listen as I say "I love you".

Irrational Love

fear and faith, walk the fine line
looking at ways people deal with time
the time between good
the time between bad
the time between happiness and all that we had

Choking back words I thought were ideal
Never fathoming your ability to feel
You've always been a dream, an untouchable kind
You're that icon fashioned in the back of my mind

Your status to society is based on days..
..the Eye has played up in un-realistic ways
Based on thoughts that could never be
I believe every word; every story I read.

You're a dream and a star, you're the one in my heart
You're the obsession that will last
Until my mind is defeated by this un-relinquishing fast

Golden Days Ahead

Never forget that you
have many wonderful
and golden days ahead,
something great to look forward to.
Never lose hope for a brighter tomorrow.
Raise your sails high,
and continue to journey toward
your dreams.

You'll receive everything you've
hoped for if you stay on course.
And should trouble come your way,
just relax and let the
tempest rage around you;
the hope you harbor safely within
will keep the storms at bay.

Just continue to dream as you
navigate your ship like
a master mariner.
Let your heart be the chart,
and you'll reach the paradise

Happiness Follows

Once there was an old alley cat walking down the street looking for his supper. As he walked along he came upon a beautiful young cat who was running around in circles chasing her tail. Around and around she went trying as hard as she could to catch her tail.
The old alley cat stopped and asked her, "What are you doing?"
The young cat slowed down and replied that she had been taught that joy, happiness, success and luck were all in the tip of her tail.
"All that I have to do is catch the end of my tail, and I will have the happy life, she said.
The old alley cat replied, "I've been around for a long time, and I know that joy, happiness, success and luck are in the tip of my tail; but, you know if I don't chase it and work my very hardest and don't worry about it, the happy life follows me wherever I go. My tail follows me everywhere, so I don't need to chase it."
Happiness isn't a place, a time, or a possession. You have to make it happen. The ways to make it happen is to stop worrying about everything and just go about your business, and do your very best. Then, if you really work hard, your happiness will follow you just like the alley cat's tail . . .

Million Frog Legs

A farmer came into town and asked the owner of a
restaurant if he could use a million frog legs. The
restaurant owner was shocked and asked the man where
he could get so many frog legs! The farmer replied,
"There is a pond near my house that is full of
frogs--millions of them. They croak all during the
night and are about to drive me crazy!"

So the restaurant owner and the farmer made an
agreement that the farmer would deliver frogs to the
restaurant five hundred at a time for the next several
weeks. The first week, the farmer returned to the
restaurant looking rather sheepish, with two scrawny
little frogs. The restaurant owner said, "Well...where
are all the frogs?" The farmer said, "I was mistaken.

There were only these two frogs in the pond. But they
sure were making a lot of noise!" Next time you hear
somebody criticizing or making fun of you, remember
it's probably just a couple of noisy frogs.

Also--remember that problems always seem bigger in the
dark. Have you ever lain in your bed at might worrying
about things which seem almost overwhelming--like a
million frogs croaking?

Chances are pretty good that when the morning comes,
and you take a closer look, you'll wonder what all the
fuss was about . . .

Something Meaningful

This story has a very good moral do read once

There was once this guy who is very much in love with his girl. This
romantic guy folded 1,000 pieces of paper-cranes as a gift to his girl.
Although, at that time he was just a small fry in his company, his future
doesn't seemed too bright, they were very happy together. Until one day, his
girl told him she was going to Paris and will never come back.

She also told him that she couldn't visualize any future for the both of
them, so let's go their own ways there and then ...Heartbroken, the guy
agreed. But when he regains his confidence, he worked hard day and night,
slogging his body and mind just to make something out of him.

Finally with all these hard work and the help of friends, this guy had set
up his own company. You never fail until you stop trying.. One rainy day,
while this guy was driving; he saw an elderly couple sharing an umbrella the
rain walking to some destination.

Even with the umbrella, they were still drenched. It didn't take him
long to realize those were his girl's parents. With a heart in getting back
at them, he droved slowly beside the couple, wanting them to spot him in his
luxury sedan.

He wanted them to know that he wasn't the same anymore; he had his own
company, car, comfort etc. He made it! Before the guy can realize, the
couple was walking towards a cemetery, and he got out of his car and
followed... and he saw his girl, a photograph of her smiling sweetly as
ever at him from her tombstone... and he saw his paper cranes beside her.

Find time to realize that there is one person who means so much to you,
for you might wake up one morning losing that person who you thought meant
nothing to you... Her parents saw him. He asks them why had this happened. They
explained, she did not leave for France at all. She was ill with cancer.

She had believed that he will make it someday, but she did not want to be
his obstacle... therefore she had choose to leave him...

Just because someone doesn't love you the way you want them to, doesn't mean
they don't love you with all they have.. She had wanted her parents to put his
paper cranes beside her, because, if the day comes when fate brings him to
her again he can take some of those back with him...
Once you have loved, you will always love. For what's in your mind may
escape but what's in your heart will remain forever . . .

The guy just wept... The worst way to miss someone is to be sitting right
beside them and knowing that you can't have them . . .

NEVER ABANDON AN OLD FRIEND . . .
YOU WILL NEVER FIND ONE WHO CAN TAKE HIS/HER PLACE . . .
FRIENDSHIP IS LIKE WINE, IT GETS BETTER AS IT GROWS OLDER . . .

Dry Leaf.. My Life . . .

In the sea shore I walk alone.. at nights
My eyes filled with tears
My lips crushed between my teeth
My hands wrapping myself tightly
My heart crying for its own death..

I see no future in front of me
May be I don’t see the one I wished to
It’s hard to get ready for another future
The future where I won’t see you any more
The future where I will forget you completely..

Everything around me is empty now
Everything that had had life before
I will look for a shop where I can buy a new heart
This time I will be careful not to let it fall
At least for the one who is not going to catch it..?

I will start a new beginning
I will color myself in a different brush
To hide my pains from others
I won’t let myself get wet in emotions
I’m just afraid to learn about love again . . .
